Routine & Non-Routine Surgery

Cattle surgery is generally performed on farm but we have facilities to operate in-house if this is more suitable or convenient. We have even recently purchased an Arrowequip squeeze crush to allow safer handling of cattle. We routinely carry out cow and ewe caesareans, as well as displaced abomasum operations and calf hernias, but are happy to get involved in the more unusual cases. All vets carry sterile surgical kits, and the equipment required to undertake surgery.

We can now perform laparoscopic (also known as keyhole) LDA surgery. This technique is considered less invasive with a quicker recovery than traditional open surgery.
