Referral Services

Castle Farm Vets are a team of very experienced and approachable farm animal clinicians. Our vets all still work in first opinion practice and understand the challenging situations that may present as farm animal practitioners or animal owners. When these difficult cases present resources or exposure/experience all too often restrict treatment options.

With this in mind our referral service was launched to provide an accessible option and the support needed for these difficult cases. Along with the fantastic clinicians the team have superb equipment and facilities at their disposal and are further enhanced by the wider resources and knowledge within the CVS group.

Below you will find a list of services that we are already aiding people with. This list is not exhaustive and is ever growing so please do still contact the practice should you have a case that you think we may be able to help with.

· Laparoscopic exploration

· Exploratory laparotomy

· Laparoscopic left displace abomasum (LDA) correction

· Right displaced abomasum (RDA) surgical correction

· Laparoscopic treatment of partial or complete urethral obstruction in rams

· Surgical treatment of partial or complete urethral obstruction in bulls (perineal urethrostomy)

· Fertility examination – including semen testing

· Semen freezing

· Genetic recovery – including epididymal harvest and oocyte recovery

· Artificial insemination, embryo transfer and in vitro fertilisation (IVF)

· Aspiration of ovarian cysts
